In 1999 Jake Rapper, a member of The Bridge and former resident at the house on 2201 Morrill suggested to Pastor Wainer (former church planter and founding pastor of The Bridge Covenant Church), and his wife Magui, to think that the house could possibly be a place where The Bridge could have its office and its weekly events and programs.
Pastor Wainer the founding pastor of The Bridge, shared the vision with the men's group and the chairman Ed Elliott, and Magui with the women and as everyone in The Bridge saw the place the sense that God was leading us to buy the house became real. It was our 1st huge step of faith as The Bridge family and in 2000 the house was bought by The Bridge Covenant Church.

One of the 1st decision made by The Bridge leadership was to name the house, "Community Casa" and make Pastor Wainer (who is now with Project Brazil) its first director. Such step was in line with The Bridge's vision to be a fully community involved fellowship of believers.
